Inactive Diver/Refresher Program
Inactive Diver/Refresher Program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an inactive diver. This course if for any diver that has not been scuba diving in the past 6 months or longer.
Who this course is for:
The certified diver who has been inactive for a period of time and wishes to review the scuba skills and academic information before starting to dive again.
Course prerequisites:

Have proof of an Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent from a recognized dive training organization, or, Junior Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent from a recognized dive training organization.

Self-paced and preferably to be completed before starting pool training

When you’ve completed the final exam, feel free to bring a copy to your pool session for review with your instructor

SCUBA Equipment Assembly & Fitting Session Deep Ocean Explore Store – 2 hours

1 practical session covering the basic assembly of SCUBA equipment and fitting of any purchased or rented gear

Each student will need to have their own personal gear including - mask, snorkel, boots, gloves, underwater compass, and a method for logging dives. These items can be provided by the student, pending approval by instructional staff, or purchased from our store

Pool Training – 4+ hours (one weekend day)

1 session lasting 4+ hours (depending on skills needing to be reviewed)

Rental gear (wetsuits, BCs, weights, regulators, computers, fins, and cylinders) will be provided at no additional cost during the pool sessions.

What you can expect to learn:
Although one in-water training dive is required, the instructor or assistant instructor may use their discretion with reference to the skills needed to complete the dive.

Upon successful completion of the Open Water Scuba Diver course, graduates may:

*Note: Junior divers (ages 10-14) must participate in diving activities with a parent, guardian, or dive professional.

Booking & Payments
Classes must be paid in full prior to enrollment or participation. Digital training materials, once issued, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Cancellations
General Cancellations:
- Up to 7 days before class start date: 50% of class fee can be refunded.
- Less than 48 hours before class start date: 25% of class fee can be refunded at staff discretion.
Rescheduling:
- Up to 7 days before class start date: Subject to a 50% tuition rescheduling fee.
- Less than 48 hours before class start date: Subject to a 75% tuition rescheduling fee at staff discretion.
Medical and Illness Policy
If you are unable to participate due to illness, including COVID-19 or other general health concerns, you may reschedule with a 50% rebooking fee. A medical waiver is required to reschedule without penalty. Failure to provide a completed and signed medical waiver before the start date of class will result in a 50% rebooking fee or loss of tuition.
Missed Classes
If you miss any scheduled class, we will work with you to arrange makeup sessions, subject to availability:
- Classroom/Zoom Session: $100/hour
- Pool Session: $100/hour
- Ocean Dives: $375/day (private 1-on-1)
