• How to plan and execute staged decompression dives up to 45 meters / 150 feet

• Gas management strategies, including backup and bailout procedures

• The use of dive computers, tables, and decompression software

• Decompression stop protocols and emergency scenarios

• Proper equipment configuration and redundancy practices

Perfect for divers preparing for advanced certifications like Advanced Nitrox, Trimix, or Extended Range, this course will expand your capabilities and open up new underwater opportunities. Training is conducted using open circuit scuba gear and focuses on precision, safety, and confidence in handling decompression obligations.

Who this course is for:

• The certified Advanced Diver looking to expand their knowledge of decompression theory and diving techniques
• The certified Advanced Diver who is interested in extending their bottom time
• The certified Advanced Diver who has interest in moving forward with technical diving education

Course prerequisites:

• Minimum age 18
• Minimum certification of SDI Advanced Adventure Diver, Advanced Diver, or equivalent
• Proof of 25 logged open water dives

• Decompression dive planning including:
  • Decompression gas choices
  • Tables vs. personal dive computers
  • Emergency and contingency planning (equipment failure, omitted decompression, etc.)
• Decompression diving procedures

  • Pre-dive checks and drills

  • Following a decompression schedule
  • Gas switching
  • Team awareness and communication
  • SMB/lift bag deployment
• Proper trim, buoyancy and finning techniques
• Emergency procedures (equipment failures, catastrophic gas loss, omitted decompression, navigational errors, etc.)
• Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, and gas blending procedures

Booking & Payments

Classes must be paid in full prior to enrollment or participation. Digital training materials, once issued, are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellations

General Cancellations:

• Up to 7 days before class start date: 50% of class fee can be refunded.
• Less than 48 hours before class start date: 25% of class fee can be refunded at staff discretion.

Rescheduling:

• Up to 7 days before class start date: Subject to a 50% tuition rescheduling fee.
• Less than 48 hours before class start date: Subject to a 75% tuition rescheduling fee at staff discretion.

Medical and Illness Policy

If you are unable to participate due to illness, including COVID-19 or other general health concerns, you may reschedule with a 50% rebooking fee. A medical waiver is required to reschedule without penalty. Failure to provide a completed and signed medical waiver before the start date of class will result in a 50% rebooking fee or loss of tuition.

Missed Classes

If you miss any scheduled class, we will work with you to arrange makeup sessions, subject to availability:

• Classroom/Zoom Session: $100/hour
• Pool Session: $100/hour
• Ocean Dives: $375/day (private 1-on-1)
